Rhodes University invites you to submit a bid for the supply and installation of HVAC equipment for the Main Admin Building Refurbishment.<br /><br />The work consists of alterations and renovations to the existing Main Administration building. The works are divided into three sections.<br />The first section (Eastern portion of the building) consists of a full upgrade and refurbishment consisting of works extend over three floors and totals approximately 4500m2 of building area. The work is contained within the existing structural footprint. The work comprises renovations, modernisation and fire safety interventions and includes renovations to all spaces, replacement of leaded light windows, modernisation of toilets, fire compartmentalisation, minor new structural works to altered Council Chambers, a new lift shaft. There is a high level of mechanical and electrical services, including fire sprinklers, fire detection, re-wiring, etc.<br /><br />Sections 2 and 3, (South and Westerns) of the building works comprise of installation of new fire rated ceiling (approx.. 2100 m2) and fire compartmentalisation by means of fire doors and in-situ rib and block slabs. The remainder of the existing finishes to the building is to be safe guarded against damage. Minor external works for the fire main feed and two fire hydrants as well as minor paving to the courtyards are also included in the tender. <br /><br />
