Tender description
The port of Mostyn has identified the need for an additional heavy lift pad on the existing quay to allow it to continue to service the offshore wind industry and other projects mostly related to the development and deployment of renewable energy.It has been decided to build a heavy lift pad capable of accommodating a very large crawler crane (3000 tonne capacity).The size of the pad is generally 20m x 25m and has now been fully designed by the Port’s consultant for this project. This consists of a 2m deep reinforced concrete slab supported on 301m diameter bored piles as shown on the drawings included in Appendix 5.The Contractor will be responsible for:- The removal of the existing hard standing of the quay- Excavation to the required depth- The installation of the piles- Construction of the Concrete slab- Reinstatement of the surface around the pad- The design of any temporary works needed for the construction.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=159403.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:based on the National TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) developed by the Social Value Portal, these Welsh TOMs have been developed to align with the Wellbeing for Future Generation Act.The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
