The Planning and Place system replacement project is a critical initiative for the Council. The platform we currently use is approaching end of life with the current contract due to expire in June 2026. As such we are seeking a future focussed solution. The primary objective is to ensure a timely, compliant, robust and innovative replacement of our existing case management system. The new system will support the following functions: •Arboriculture •Building Control •Electronic Document Records Management System (including external publication and redaction) •Land Charges •Planning (including Enforcement, Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy statutory requirements) •Property Gazetteer (excluding GIS) Whilst it is important for us to secure a robust system, the use of AI now and in the future will be key to helping us to provide an efficient process whilst keeping costs down.
