Provision of services for Somascan 11K proteomics assay

Tender description

We, the Contracting Authority, require the supply of services for protein biomarker analysis using Somalogics’ Somascan 11K assay. The purpose of this consultation is to identify suitable vendors who can provide this service to meet our specification. We wish to utilise the Somoscan 11k assay to identify and assess biomarkers using human plasma samples across 3 cohorts from multiple jurisdictions, including both disease and healthy control samples. The total number of samples to be assayed is 645. Given the fact that these samples are coming from multiple jurisdictions, and have been gathered during different time frames we wish to include pre-analytical variation (PAV) assessment and prediction for time-to-spin, time-to-decant and time-to-freeze. We also wish to conduct this analysis in a timely manner, with a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks from receipt of samples at the vendors site to data delivery. The Contracting Authority shall source, collect, aliquot and randomise the samples prior to shipping to the vendor on dry ice for the analysis, which we will organise. We will supply any samples in accordance with all applicable laws, and will ensure specific sample preparation recommendations are followed (volumes, tube type, labelling, shipping criteria etc), as laid in the tenderers Terms of Service Agreement. The vendor shall conduct the assays and include relevant controls and necessary quality checks in all runs. The vendor should follow the Somalogics’ best practice methodology for sample accession including visual inspection for damage during transport, any missing wells and that the plate ID matches with the sample manifest. Samples to be stored at required temperature until analysis. Samples should be used in accordance with the principles of good clinical laboratory practice and the highest standards of skill and care. The vendor shall ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing the transportation, keeping, tracking, use and disposal of the Samples in particular the provisions of the Human Tissue Act (2004). All services should be performed by properly qualified and experienced personnel. The vendor should perform any necessary data processing and clean up, and an overall sample report will be sent to the Contracting Authority and will include quantitative results as produced by the Somascan software. The data should be in a format that can be directly imported into statistical analysis software. Both the raw and normalised data should be provided. The Proteomic data should be returned to the Contracting Authority, via a secure file transfer system as agreed with the Contracting Authority. All results, data and any resulting IP generated by the services shall be exclusively owned by the Contracting Authority.
