Tender description

A series of such small but important schemes, creating footway links, suppressing vehicle speeds, improving visibility and junction safety. This Mini Competition continues the theme of a number of small diverse projects and locations within a single contract. There are four schemes in this Contract : - Kirkvale Court, Newton Mearns – Build Out The works are to introduce a single build-out adjacent to a school pedestrian access, offering a larger landing area for school leavers and reduced road width crossing for pedestrians. Glanderston Gate, Newton Mearns – Junction Treatment The works are to tighten the existing radii, reducing the road width crossing for pedestrians. Hill Drive, Eaglesham – Junction Treatment The works are to tighten existing radii, constructing build outs and generally reducing the road width crossing distance for pedestrians. The southern radius will be built out to improve visibility for vehicles emerging from Hill Drive onto Strathaven Road. Capelrig Road, Newton Mearns – Civils for Puffin The existing zebra crossing will be upgraded to a puffin crossing.
