Tender description
University College London (UCL) is seeking a Social Research Organisation to undertake a Web Survey for the 1958 National Child Development Study (NCDS) and the 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70) 2026 Web Survey. <br /><br />The cohort studies follow individuals throughout their lives. They involve multiple surveys, together with other specialised forms of data collection (for example physical measurements and biological samples), and linkages to administrative records. The information collected is broad, covering areas as diverse as education, employment, and income, family and parenting, physical and mental health, and social attitudes. As well as conducting regular surveys of the cohorts, CLS delivers a strong interdisciplinary research programme based on the cohorts, and programmes of research on survey methodology and statistical methods. Our academic staff specialise in applying advanced quantitative methods to the cohort data to produce high quality research and inform policy in areas such as education, health, labour markets, child development, child and adult wellbeing, and ageing.<br /><br />UCL is planning to purchase the services of a research agency to administer the first two waves of data collection of the Generation New Era study.<br />The budget for this tender is £32,610,000 (in pounds) including VAT. Agencies are required to ringfence a minimum of £2,235,000 (incl. VAT) of the total budget for respondent incentives across both <br /><br />Suitably experienced Social Research Organisation are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.<br /><br />Please note:<br />UCL is not a "contracting authority" or a "body governed by public law" as defined by the new Procurement Act 2024. This procurement process is not regulated by EU or UK public procurement law. Where UCL advertises contracts in the Official Journal of the European Union, it does so on a voluntary basis and does not undertake any obligation to comply with the procurement legislation. UCL reserves its rights in full to adapt or step outside the procedures in the procurement legislation as UCL considers necessary.
