Tender description
In 2023 Warrington Council purchased Warrington Peace Centre on Cromwell Avenue in Great Sankey and in November 2024 the Council’s Cabinet approved investment to develop the Peace Centre to create an exciting multifunctional site, supporting the development of a new local service offer for young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) aged over 19 years and to relocate the sixth form at Woolston Learning Village. The site will also include an Adult Social Care (ASC) facility to provide seamless and shared services supporting transition where appropriate from Education into Adult Social care provision. This new provision will help to meet the rising demand for statutory SEND education and also more diverse ASC day opportunities offer that means that people can and most importantly will want to stay local. This market testing exercise relates to the delivery of ASC day opportunities and supported internship provision only to be delivered from the Peace Centre site. The Peace Centre is currently being remodelled to meet the needs of young people and we anticipate the building to be ready for occupation from September 2026. The aims of the ASC offer at The Peace Centre is to create a safe and exciting space for up to 40 young people, where they will thrive and prepare for adulthood surrounded by their peers, supported to make their own decisions about what adulthood looks like for them; whether that be employment, volunteering or day opportunities or a mixture of both. Keywords: education, training
