The Trust utilised the NHS Supply Chain Complete Ophthalmology Solutions 2 Framework (2020/S 178-431058) LOT 2 - Consumables and Implants to direct awarded a contract for the provision of preloaded intra-ocular lenses for 4 years. Lot 1: The Trust anticipated approximately 3300 units of preloaded intra-ocular lenses per annum. In accordance with the NHSSC framework buying guidance, supplier selection was conducted based a combination of cost (per framework banded pricing and available discounts) and quality (clinical evaluations) to determine the most suitable preloaded IOL to meet the Trust's requirements.
