England has been part of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) survey, a World Health Organisation survey of adolescents, for 20+ years along with around 44 other countries. This is a direct award action due to the contractor having exclusive rights to undertake the HBSC England study. The World Health Organisation (WHO) requires a formal assessment process for contractors, and the study teams are awarded exclusive rights after they meet the rigorous quality specifications.
