The range complexity and dependency of patients entering the wards at CICC which is part of Wirral Community Health & Care NHH FT has created the need for a comprehensive range of chairs that can adequately meet the postural and pressure needs of all patients. Current in-house seating provision does not adequately meet the postural support and pressure care needs of the patients admitted to CICC. The current process for the acquisition of chairs Via MEDEQUIP) is inadequate and leads to delay and unmet needs. This capital business case for the purchase of a stock of chairs has been approved. They would be kept at CICC and could be used as and when required by patients. This would give timely efficient access seating that meets the range and complexity of needs presented by patients admitted to CICC.
