The Council Tax (Administration & Enforcement) Scotland Regulations 1992 requires all Local Authorities to review the award of Council Tax Single Persons Discount. The council has a statutory duty to take reasonable steps to regularly review all discounts and exemptions to ensure our records are accurate, up to date, and any relief granted is only awarded where there is a true entitlement. The contract is to provide a fully managed service in respect of Council Tax checking and verification for single persons discount claimants.
