Provision of Anti Embolism Stockings (Non Mechanical) for NHSS. Compression stockings are a specialised hosiery designed to help prevent the occurrence of, and guard against further progression of, venous disorders such as edema, phlebitis and thrombosis. Compression stockings are elastic garments worn around the leg, compressing the limb. This reduces the diameter of distended veins and increases venous blood flow velocity and valve effectiveness. Compression therapy helps decrease venous pressure, prevents venous stasis and impairments of venous walls, and relieves heavy and aching legs. Lot 1: Modification from 11.11.24 to 10.11.25 to meet the demands of the Scottish Health and Social Care sector during the workplan recovery projects currently falling out of scope due to the knock-on effects from the Covid-19 pandemic and to maintain supply and remove unnecessary disruption from the Authority at this time in line with Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
