On-site Housing Support Services for Block Accommodation Buildings

The Council needs to increase the supply and use of appropriate temporary accommodation both at scale and pace, to alleviate bed and breakfast (B&B) and hotel cost pressures. One option being pursued as part of a wider B&B reduction plan is the use of block accommodation with on-site housing support that will enable the Council to provide more suitable accommodation to those who are homeless, whilst being better value than the use of B&B accommodation. Liverpool City Council is seeking a provider to deliver the on site support to increase and further develop long term independent living skills, reducing the cycle of repeat homelessness. This will consist of a temporary accommodation service for single people who are at risk of homelessness as assessed by the Council’s Housing Options Service and who have a Low to Medium level of support that can be met from within this service. The Provider will provide an onsite staffed service, 24 hours a day; 7 days a week, 365 days a year for to up to 49 single people at any one time in specific accommodation in In the Liverpool 3 area of the city’.
