Research Data Storage and Management Platforms (FAIR)

Tender description

Cardiff University wishes to significantly modernise and improve its capabilities in the areas of research data storage and management. <br />Our five fundamental objectives for the programme are:<br />1. To build a “FAIR Campus” for researchers to make working with a broad range of large-scale research data sets straightforward throughout their lifecycle, and to enable world leading digital research including collaborative programmes.<br />2. To ease and centralise the management of our storage infrastructure and services with a small team of support staff.<br />3. To support compliance with university policy, legal requirements, and to follow good practice for working with research data such as the FAIR principles.<br />4. To give greater insight into the data assets owned by the University, and to deliver our research more cost-effectively, minimising our carbon emissions.<br />5. To proactively ensure the security and integrity of our data assets, but also to recover from accidental loss or cyber-attack as quickly as possible.<br />
