Request for Information (RFI) - Alternatives to Plastic Bags / Bin Liners

North Ayrshire Council (“NAC”) are looking for information on alternatives to plastic bags / bin liners to reduce NAC’s single use plastic. NAC’s Building Services team currently use plastic bags daily when picking up materials for operations to uplift and/or deliver to sites. NAC’s cleaners utilise black plastic bin liners currently for all office and canteen bins. Please refer to the table in the attached questionnaire which details what NAC currently use and how much is used per year. NAC welcomes suggestions, proposal, innovation from suppliers, by completing the attached questionnaire and returning to murraythompson@north-ayrshire.gov.uk before close of business Friday 4th April 2025. Lot 1: North Ayrshire Council (“NAC”) are looking for information on alternatives to plastic bags / bin liners to reduce NAC’s single use plastic. The information received will determine whether or not a procurement is required.
