Tender description

Following the failure of several tubes there is a requirement to re-tube an Aprovis Steam Generator at the University of Birmingham Energy Centre.<br /> Remove tubes (422 off minimum) Prepare tube plate holes for new tubes (j prep).<br /> Carry out local MPI to repair any surface cracks in tubeplate.<br /> Grind out all local cracks if any, carry out local repairs and wait for interim NDT/MPI by out insurance provider to clear tube sheet for retubing work.<br /> Supply and fit new tubes into tube plates <br /> Expand front and rear tubes in readiness for welding to submitted procedures <br /> Assist insurance inspector to witness set up prior welding if required <br /> Weld new tubes into boiler <br /> insurance Provider to carry out MPI to new welds <br /> Pressure test boiler on completion of works <br /> Hand boiler back to client.<br />
