The Collection and Disposal of Landfill Leachate at Cathkin and Summerston Landfill

Tender description

The scope of this tender is for the collection and processing of landfill leachate. Lot 1: This contract is to support the management of leachate at Cathkin and Summerston landfill sites. Leachate is a heavily contaminated liquid which continues to form for many years after a landfill site stop receiving biodegradable waste and occurs as water percolates through the waste mass and the breakdown of waste releases moisture. The supplier is required to provide sufficient logistics, treatment, and capacity to collect and dispose of the typical chemistry and tonnages of leachate produced at both landfill sites.
