Rhodes University, Infrastructure and Operations Division invites all suitably qualified service providers to respond to the invitation for the tender below: <br /><br />RENOVATIONS TO MAIN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING<br /><br />The works consists of alterations and renovations to the existing Main Administration building. The works are divided into three sections. <br />The first section (Eastern portion of the building) consists of a full upgrade and refurbishment consisting of works extending over three floors and totals approximately 4500m2 of building area. The work is contained within the existing structural footprint. The work comprises renovations, modernisation and fire safety interventions and includes renovations to all spaces, replacement of leaded light windows, modernisation of toilets, fire compartmentalisation, minor new construction works to altered Council chamber and a new lift shaft. There is a high level of mechanical and electrical services, including fire sprinklers, fire detection, re-wiring, etc.<br />Sections 2 and 3, (South and Western sections) of the building, works comprise of installation of new fire rated ceiling (approx. 2100m2) and fire compartmentalisation by means of fire doors and in-situ rib and block slabs over stairs. The remainder of the existing finishes to the building is to be safe guarded against damage. <br />Minor external works for a fire main feed and two fire hydrants as well as minor paving to the courtyards are also included in the tender.<br /><br />PLEASE NOTE: Compulsory project briefing and site inspection will be conducted with tenderer’s on 19 November @ 11h00
