Dulnain Bridge to Grantown Shared Use Active Travel Path – Technical design completion and statutory permissions processes

Dulnain Bridge to Grantown shared use active travel path will address a significant gap in active travel provision in the Cairngorms National Park area. The community-led project has been handed over to the Cairngorms National Park Authority for completion of the technical design, statutory permissions, and preparation of a tender package for construction. Lot 1: The consultant will be required to manage the technical design of this project through to discharge of all conditions arising from statutory permissions applications. Drawing from design work delivered to date, the contract will require submission (for the entirety of the approx. 4km long route) of a single planning application, a single Road Construction Consent application, and the associated technical approvals from both The Highland Council and Transport Scotland as overseeing organisations and asset managers of the associated road network (A938, A95, B9102). The contract will also require revising design work to date to the extent required to address feedback and/or conditions arising from the overseeing organisations. The path route overlies privately and publicly owned land and assets and will require considered, efficient, and transparent coordination of permissions. The contract may include the consultant providing technical support for the duration of implementation of a Trunk Road Order. The form of contract will be NEC Professional Services Contract.
