To ensure compliance with Professional, Statutory, Regulatory Body (PSRB) requirements, it is mandatory for all students on health and social care courses to engage with Occupational Health Screenings and associated vaccinations.<br /><br />The University recognises that a safe workplace and a healthy environment are essential to the success of the organisation with wellbeing as a key strategic focus. Excellent in managing Occupational Health and Safety is a fundamental aspect of the University’s strategic plan.<br /><br />To support this, the University is committed to promoting and maintaining the highest standards of physical and mental wellbeing for all students. The Occupational Health Service is responsible for providing guidance to the School, Programme Leads and Academic Support Tutors (Personal Tutors) on:<br /><br />• Protecting the health of students and preventing ill-health<br />• Preventing illness<br />• Advising on the adaptations of placements to the capability of the individual<br />• Supporting recovery and return to placement after illness or injury<br /><br />The Occupational Health Service must provide an effective and efficient Occupational Health Service (OHS) with a suitable number of directly employed staff (OH Physicians, OH Nurses and administrative support), appropriately qualified in the particular specialism of occupational health as required to enable delivery of all aspects required to meet the scope of the contract to assess the health of applicants/students.
