Tender description
The City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) has a statutory duty to provide alternative provision for children and young people in accordance with the Education Act 1996. These can include children and young people who are permanently excluded; subject to fixed term exclusions; at risk of disengaging from education; and/or require alternative educational provision to meet their education entitlement (e.g. as outlined in their Education, Health and Care plan). The current Alternative Provision (AP) framework expires 31 August 2025; therefore, the City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking to re-commission a range of alternative educational provision which will drive, support and improve students' engagement and inclusion, whilst promoting sufficient choice in the local market, and delivering best value. Additional information: City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) would like to invite you, as providers who have expressed an interest, to the Market Engagement Events in relation to these new services. CWC would like to share with you our vision and priorities for the development a new provider framework focused on Alternative Educational Provision for children and young people in Wolverhampton. The purpose and objectives of these events will be to provide an overview of the intended service model and options being considered. This includes: • Changes to the current service specification and lot structure • Cost structures for standard and specialist placements • The placement competition process The events will explore shared values and ways of working that will help us collaborate effectively, as we begin the process of recommissioning this service offer. The detailed service requirements are in the final stages of development, and these Market Events will help to explain some of the decisions being made. Your valued feedback may inform our final service specification. Please confirm attendance by sending the Attendance Confirmation sheet by 5pm on Monday 4th November through the Proactis Tendering Portal messaging system by expressing an interest to attend the virtual market events on either the 6th or 8th November 2024.
