Tender description

The Marine Licensing Team (MLT) within NRW act as the regulator for marine development consent within Wales (currently inshore region – to 12nm offshore), as described by the Marine and Coastal Access Act (MACAA, 2009). NRW undertakes this role on behalf of Welsh Ministers. This purchase is to enable provision of the following: Specialist technical advice on the impacts to the environment from marine licence applications, that is often outside of the remit of NRW specialists, or beyond the resource capacity available within NRW at the given time, for example (but not limited to), specialist fisheries and underwater acoustics advice. Analytical services, for example, but not limited to, sediment sampling and analysis service associated with dredge-disposal activities (pre-application; applications and post-licensing discharge of conditions). Lot 1: Sampling Analysis and Sample Plan Services Lot 1 Sampling Analysis and Sample Plan Services Provision of the following in response to applications for disposal of dredge arisings at sea: Sample plans (production &/or approval) Sampling analysis Sampling reports (including suitability for disposal) Lot 2: Specialist Advice Services Provision of general advice in response to specific requests regarding the following specialist environmental areas Marine noise and vibration Fish (marine, shellfish and aquaculture, fish telemetry, Computerised Fluid Dynamic modelling) Modelling e.g. fish impacts, coastal processes, marine mammal collision modelling Statistical design of environmental monitoring Benthic ecology General pollution prevention advice Other specialist advice services
