Collection and recycling of scrap metal form depots in Powys

Powys County Council has fourteen operational depots across the County of Powys, from which scrap metal is produced. This scrap metal does not include any materials generated by the Council through its kerbside collection service.The Waste and Recycling Service are responsible for the disposal of the scrap metal and require that the scrap metal is collected and recycled to assist the authority in achieving statutory recycling targets set by Welsh Government.The Council is seeking to appoint a supplier to provide a collection and recycling service of the scrap metal that is generated by the Council, and it is intended that a contract will be entered into for a period of three years. It is anticipated that the agreement will commence in May/June 2023.
