Request for Proposal (RFP)-For: Going Global Partnerships - Consultancy for Quality Assurance, Leadership Development, and Fellowship Application and Workshops in Bangladesh Universities

The British Council in Bangladesh has been actively working to bring positive change in the education sector, with a core focus on transforming the higher education sector, particularly in quality enhancement through different activities. Our higher education initiatives aim to address the sector's needs and establish sustainable links with Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in the UK. Partnership is at the heart of designing these programmes, and we promote public, private, and global initiatives.<br />Despite progress through various reform programmes, Bangladesh still faces significant challenges in developing awareness, processes, and capacity for quality enhancement. To meet the country’s aspirations of achieving developing country status, Bangladesh plans to focus on quality enhancement across the education sectors to produce a workforce capable of meeting the requirements of the knowledge economy.<br />In response to the need for improving the quality of teaching and learning in HEIs, the British Council, in partnership with the University Grants Commission (UGC), has been implementing various initiatives to enhance teaching and learning quality in Bangladesh's higher education institutions. One of those initiatives is the delivery of Teaching Excellence Programme (TEP) where we have developed the capacity of the Directors and Additional Directors of the IQAC (Institutional Quality Assurance Cell) of different universities. We develop a pool of facilitators from the TEP participants who assist to the training delivery and these facilitators have been instrumental for the sustainability of the TEP training. So far, we have finished two batches of TEP training where we have imparted training to 53 IQAC Directors and Additional Directors. <br />Key Objectives: <br />• Enhance the quality of teaching and learning of Bangladesh's higher education institutions <br />• Review and deliver customised training materials, interactive sessions and fellowship programme for the capacity development of the university level faculty members.<br />• Develop and deliver a tailored Higher Education Leadership Programme (HELP) for newly appointed university leaders and to establish a pool of trained professionals through Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions.<br />• Implement a system for continuous evaluation and feedback.<br />The purpose and scope of this RFP is to explain in further detail the requirements of the British Council and the process for submitting a proposal in response to this RFP (“Proposal”).<br />
