Replacement of the Swimming Pool Hall Ventilation System and Sub-mains Switch Board at Thornbury Leisure Centre, South Gloucestershire

Tender description

The Council is seeking to appoint a principal mechanical and electrical services contractor to replace the existing swimming pool hall ventilation plant with a new roof mounted packaged air handling unit which incorporates fans, heating coils, filters, dampers and a high efficiency heat exchanger. The works comprise of replacing the existing swimming pool ventilation system with a new packaged air handing unit with associated ventilation ductwork, heating pipework, heating and ventilation automatic controls system interfaced with existing BMS system, electrical works and building works. As part of the electrical works package, the existing sub-main switch board located within the main plant room will also be replaced. This will require a number of phased overnight electrical change overs. A full and detailed specification and drawings (RIBA/ ACE stage 4) will be issued for the works including all elements of M&E work, builders work and structural work. The contract will be the JCT Standard Building Contract Without Quantities 2016 (SBC/XQ). The Council is undertaking a restricted tender process to shortlist the number of contractors pricing the project to no more than five. Contractors submitting the 'first stage' SSQ will need to meet the minimum qualification requirements and provide examples of successfully completing projects of similar nature, value, timescale and complexity.
