Urgent repair work Lot 1: Proposed Urgent Repair work : 1. Repoint the open and loose joints in the arch barrel, spandrel wall, abutment, and wing wall with NATCEM 35 mortar or an approved equivalent material. 2. Stitch displaced island masonry units to the surrounding stonework of the arch barrel using Cintec anchors or an approved equivalent (Refer to Figure 10). 3. Fix steel/galvanized channel sections to the bridge faces at both elevations using anchors (Refer to Figures 8 and 9). 4. Install stainless steel Macalloy tie bars under the soffit of the arch barrel and pretension them in two stages against the channel section using hydraulic jacks (Refer to Figures 8 and 9). 5. Install displacement sensors across cracks at predetermined positions (Refer to Figures 6 and 7) and other monitoring equipment such as a 4G data logger, solar panel, and battery pack to ensure remote monitoring of the cracks for one year after the installation of the displacement sensors. Dumfries & Galloway Council (DGC) should receive monthly reports of the observations from all displacement sensors. If any. Further information as per attachment "WAUCHOPE BRIDGE_(005)_R2_17.07.2024"
