Provision of Cycle Hangars

Tender description

Cardiff Council are proposing to undertake a procurement exercise for the provision of on street cycle hangars with parking spaces to be rented to members of the public. Cardiff Council has secured capital funds to purchase the cycle hangars but are looking to run a concession contract for the provider to deliver the service. The Council does not have revenue funding available for the ongoing maintenance of the units. It is anticipated that the supplier should cover the costs of routine and reactive maintenance from the rental fees charged for the units, in addition to covering the ongoing rental management costs. The supplier will be expected to undertake a programme of routine maintenance to keep the cycle hangars in good working order, and to also undertake repairs and reactive maintenance when required (e.g. due to accidental damage or vandalism). Lot 1: - Supply and installation of 50 secure cycle parking units at 50 different on-street locations to be agreed by Cardiff Council, with an option to extend contract to supply an additional 50 units to the same specification - A programme of regular maintenance of the units - Reactive maintenance of the units as required - Provision and management of a suitable rental system in order to rent spaces in the units to residents.
