British Council wants to deliver a pilot project titled Strengthening Youth Initiatives for Reintegration and Sustainable Peace in Borno, Northeast, Nigeria in non-formal education settings during the 24/25 financial year. <br />The overall purpose of the project is to support initiatives of young people to promote reintegration, social cohesion and sustainable peace in Nigeria’s Northeast Region. Specifically, the project will facilitate engagements, initiatives and mobilizations towards promoting successful outcomes of current efforts to reintegrate people who have defected from violent extremist organizations (VEOs) and renounced violent extremism as well as returnees from locations previously captured and controlled by VEOs under the amnesty programme administered by the Government of Nigeria. The range of activities to be delivered will contribute to changing negative perceptions about reintegration, reduce the likelihood of recidivism among returnees and radicalization of youths in communities, and foster dialogue, reconciliation and social cohesion. <br />
