Contract for Middle Wad Flood Alleviation Scheme Clontarf Road

Tender description

The Contract provides for the construction of the following flood alleviation works, which comprises provision of additional capacity along the culverted River Wad and outfall: Additional culvert to outfall on the Clontarf Road of circa 27m, on either side of a previously constructed section. • New outfall structure complete with non-return valve. • New inception chamber to split flows between 2 no. existing culverts, and proposed culvert. • Replacement of damaged sections of existing culverts and outfall structure, complete with non-return valves. • New connection chamber on repaired outfall. • Sealing of 3 no. identified manholes to prevent backflow. • Installation of 1 no. non-return flap valve within culvert. • Reinstatement and landscaping in accordance with the reinstatement plans. • Temporary works include establishing and securing a construction compound in a carpark on the Clontarf Road. • Other temporary works including cycle track and pedestrian route diversion and stockpiling of excavated earth.
