The delivery of a Family Support service

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is looking to identify a suitable provider to deliver a Family Support service. The Council’s ‘Powering our Future’ programme is a long-term vision that will see us working to empower communities and increase individual, family and community level activities, helping people and communities to be independent and have less reliance on Council services. The Council is looking to commission a service which encompasses a volunteer model that maximises community assets and supports families by reducing isolation, providing friendship and building relationships in the community, while offering practical help and day to day support. The successful provider will deliver flexible support packages for families referred from the Council’s children’s social care teams, working alongside families to help build resilience and a sense of belonging. The provider will have capacity to provide respite for families, which will include some overnight and short-term stays, for children and young people who are not in the care system. Expressions of Interest are sought from providers that have an established and experienced team of volunteers to provide the direct support element of the service.
