The Role of Warranties and Guarantees in Improving Resource Efficiency

Tender description

We seek to understand the potential for varied approaches to the provision and communication of warranties and guarantees to support longer product lifetimes & better value for consumers; the impact (if any) on product design; the potential for waste prevention and reduction to environmental and carbon footprints across their full lifecycle. We also wish to be appraised of the potential unintended consequences, for example longer warranties simply leading to more replacements.
