Provision of Hosted Oracle systems and managed services

Tender description

As a consequence of key skills due to retire over the next few years, it has been decided to migrate away from using Oracle as a main DB and application platform. In addition, moving away from Oracle will also create significant savings with the removal of licencing and support & maintenance contracts. As it will take longer to fully migrate away than Oracle skills will be available, there is a requirement to partner with a 3rd party supplier who can host and run our current systems. They will also need to provide help and support during the migration period. It is expected that it will take around 3 years to complete the migration. Therefore we wish to procure a 3 year service, with an optional 1 year extension - in case the migration goes past 3 years. As this service will be cloud hosted, a supplier was sought on G-Cloud, who can provide a hosted system, with backups and was accredited to ISO27001.
