Tender description

THIS IS AN INVITATION TO AN EARLY MARKET ENGAGEMENT EVENT The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to initiate market engagement and inform Potential Suppliers of the opportunity to express interest in providing the below. The Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) is part of a long-term change programme, concerned with investing in the new facilities, provision and teaching expertise needed to deliver the skills priorities set out in the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs), which will be available in draft form from March and published in final form in June. The introduction of LSIPs and the Local Skills Improvement Fund are a key part of the Government’s 10-year vision for skills set out in the Skills for Jobs White Paper. The primary purpose is to address the gap between what the sector delivers, and the skills needed within the local labour market by ensuring that investment and delivery of skills is strategically planned at an area wide level. The LSIF replaces the Strategic Development Fund (SDF) which was piloted in 2021-22 and rolled out to all areas of the country in 2022-23. The policy outcomes we are seeking over the next 2 years (23-34 and 24-25) are an increase in the overall capacity and expertise of FE providers to deliver the local skills priorities identified in the LSIPs: leading to an increase in learner places; an associated increase in the number of people acquiring the skills needed by the local labour market; and more efficient delivery achieved through shared facilities, staff, curriculum and other services compared to the costs of delivering this individually. Funding will be made available to all 38 LSIP areas, with London being split further into 4 areas of the country. Express your interest in this event to participate. joining instructions will be issued following an expression of interest. This procurement is for a grant and not subject to Public Contracts Regulations 2015
