Tender description
<p>We are inviting all interested providers to attend a session to find out more about the up-coming procurement of the Appropriate Adults Service in Gloucestershire.</p> <p>The aim of the Appropriate Adult (AA) Service is to act on the behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, to provide an independent Appropriate Adults service for Children and Young People, and adults with mental ill health and/or learning disabilities and/or autism (Vulnerable Adults) who are held in custody. The service is essential to ensure that individuals are supported within custody and that the responsibilities of the Local Authority are met, and requirement Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) s are met. The role of an AA is to safeguard the rights, entitlements and welfare of Children Young People and Vulnerable Adults when they are detained or questioned as a suspect in an investigation under the Police and Criminal Evidence (PACE) Act 1984. The service will also support in providing an AA for a pre-booked Age Assessment interview for an Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Child (UASC).</p> <p>The session will give a brief overview of the service and the expectations of the provider. We will introduce the tendering process and timeline whilst giving some further general information on completing the documentation. It will also offer an opportunity to meet the Commissioning Teams of the service area.</p> <p> The event will be held on MS Teams on Wednesday 29th March 2023 at 13:00-15:00pm.</p> Keywords: vulnerable adult, appropriate adult, age assessment
