The Supply of Fuel Bags for Armoured Vehicles

Babcock Land Defence Ltd, acting as agent for the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to negotiate a contract with GKN Aerospace Services Ltd for the supply of Fuel Bags for the CR2, CRARRV & Warrior Armoured Vehicles. It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the Negotiated Procedure without Prior Publication pursuant to technical reasons. Lot 1: Babcock Land Defence Ltd, acting as agent for the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to negotiate a contract with GKN Aerospace Services Ltd for the supply of Fuel Bags for the CR2, CRARRV & Warrior Armoured Vehicles. It is considered that this contract can be awarded using the Negotiated Procedure Without Prior Publication pursuant to Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 for technical reasons. GKN Aerospace Services Ltd are the sole distributor of their products; they own the rights to the material used to manufacture the articles and the technical specifications required to undertake the manufacture, testing and supply. Without access to this information, the UK Ministry of Defence is not in a position to be able to identify the exact technical requirements for the material or manufacture and as a result, GKN Aerospace Services Ltd are the only supplier capable of fulfilling this requirement.
