'Through our work in Higher Education, we promote the whole of the UK as a destination of choice for international students, and support government-to-government and institution-to-institution partnerships between the UK and other countries. We also strengthen the reputation of UK science through international collaboration. Our approach is guided by Sustainable Development Goal 4, to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. We also seek to embed the goal of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls in all our programmes. This piece of work is being commissioned to support disability inclusion across the British Council's programmes in Higher Education and Science. This consultancy will support us to build our organisational understanding of disability inclusion in the UK Higher Education and Science sector, particularly from the perspective of international students, researchers and partners. It will help us consider our role within that and develop a roadmap for how we can fully integrate disability inclusion into our programmes. It will support the development of organisational capability through a systematic and sustainable learning and development offer. To inform their work, the consultancy will review our overall Higher Education strategy, and current programme documentation for our Higher Education and Science programmes. They will conduct interviews with programme leads in the UK and internationally. They will also conduct focus groups among key stakeholders in Higher Education institutions.
