Collection, Processing and Recycling/Recovery of Scrap Metal and Lead Acid Batteries from Recycling Centres

Tender description

Mid Ulster District Council (the Council) is inviting tenders from suitably experienced and licensed contractors to collect, process and recycle / recover scrap metal and lead acid batteries from Household Waste Recycling Centres across the district. This tender deals with the collection, processing and recycling / recovery scrap metal and lead acid batteries collected at the Councils 11 Recycling Centres. Most of the Recycling Centres listed have containers / areas for the deposit of scrap metal and lead acid batteries by householders (including commercial users at the Cookstown, Magherafelt and Drumcoo sites). The materials accepted at the Recycling Centres are not segregated into grade/types. Tenderers should satisfy themselves as to the nature of the material before submitting a tender. It is anticipated that this contract will commence in April 2023. The initial contract period will be for two years i.e. until the 31st March 2025 after which the contract may be extended (at the sole discretion of the Council) for a further two years at annual intervals i.e. up to the 31st March 2027.
