Review of implementation of NICE Technology Appraisal drugs/treatments/devices & options for future funding policy

Tender description

In January 2020 the States of Deliberation (‘the States’) approved a two-year drug funding programme on the following terms: • To implement NICE Technology Appraisals (TAs) with an ICER value of up to £30,000 in the first year of the programme; • To implement NICE TAs with an ICER value of up to £40,000 in the second year of implementation; and • To report back to the States of Deliberation with a review of the practical application of the above and with proposals to recommend, or otherwise, the introduction of NICE TAs with an ICER value greater than £40,000 and the associated financial costs and resources. Following the two-year drug funding programme, the Committee for Health & Social Care (‘the Committee’) intends to commission a review of that programme to report back to the States, and to inform its recommendations for future drug funding policy. This review shall include a review of the practical application of the above and with proposals to recommend, or otherwise, the introduction of NICE TAs with an ICER value greater than £40,000 and the associated financial costs and resources.
