Tender description
Extend to project piece to cover 6 additional schools and the amount of delivery time for an additional cost of £75,000. Justification: The initial test and learn started later than expected in September and was only with 4 schools. It was an intensive programme over a term with the schools. Fitting in the employers around the school timetable constraints was challenging and led to extensions being needed. The final report came in in December 2022 and was then delivered through a presentation to EIP 5 delivery group for questions and feedback. The work was successful but we want to further explore the impact over a longer period of time and with some additional schools. Based on what we have learnt from the initial programme and the early difficulties we had in finding a suitable contractor to run this project, we would like to now extend this piece of work to an additional 6 schools with the current company. We want to run the project over a longer period of time (5 months) starting in February for an additional £75,000. The feedback to date from the schools who have taken part and the progress in the young people who have participated has been fantastic and we want to test this out further with additional schools in. The original procurement did not receive any other suitable applicants and we are happy with the provider that has delivered this work to date. We also want to limit the time lost before we start the follow on work and therefore are asking for this to be processed as an exemption request. Savings & Value Improvement: The benefit for not going back to to procurement for this is that there were not other suitable bidders last time and we want to start the additional piece of work with schools as soon as possible to maximize impact and time spent with the young people in the new schools. This piece of work is with more schools over a longer period of time so we will be getting value for money with the work at £75,000. It will finish with an additional report and event for all the students and will end on 31th July 2023.
