<p>Developing a data led workforce, able to make the most of data and digital opportunities is a key part of our data and digital strategies at Stockport council. We want to increase data related skills, helping our workforce to better understand how to use existing intelligence and to develop their own insight, all helping to improve decision making, planning and evidence impact. We are looking to create a Data Skills Academy, an apprenticeship programme targeted at a number of colleagues across the council who tell us they would most benefit from increased data skills. We are looking to work with a UK apprenticeship approved provider to help a) determine where best in the organisation to target a “Data Skills Academy” apprenticeship programme and b) deliver the apprenticeship programme. We are exploring how best to proceed and need to consider how many people would be involved in any pilot, plus the required time commitment.
