<p>The London Borough of Bromley (“the Council”) is inviting quotations for the provision of NHS Health Checks for its Staff. The NHS Health Check is a prevention programme which aims to reduce the chance of a heart attack, stroke or developing some forms of dementia. It achieves this by assessing the top seven risk factors driving the burden of non-communicable disease in England, and by providing individuals with behavioural support and, where appropriate, pharmacological treatment.? The eligible cohort includes potential people between 40 to 74 years of age who 1) have no previous diagnosis of CVD and 2) are not currently taking statins. The check is offered once every five years.? There are three separate elements to the delivery of this service Set-up Train staff in the provision of NHS Health Checks and ensure their competency. This will include training in point of care testing. Develop the availability of clinic session times for eligible LBB staff to access NHS Health Checks at venue (s) easily accessible for Central Bromley and other parts of the borough. Ensure venue(s) selected are appropriate to enable compliance with health and safety, confidentiality, and infection prevention requirements. Ensure infection prevention processes are in place, to include blood spillage and needlestick injury, clinical waste management.? Preventing and controlling infections - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Develop a data collection and management tool to collect the agreed dataset for NHS Health Checks, with reporting options and mechanisms for reporting to the client, client’s GP and Public Health. Develop a mechanism for eligible LBB staff to arrange a suitable appointment for their NHS Health Check. Ensure any equipment required for delivery of the checks is in good condition, well maintained and calibrated as required. Administration Arrangement of appointments for NHS Health Checks. Documenting the NHS Health Check client data in order to provide a report for the client and the clients GP to facilitate appropriate clinical management and for reporting purposes. All the mandatory data should be collected entered using an agreed NHS Health Checks template aligned to national minimum dataset. Provide summary data every month to Public Health for contract monitoring purposes.
