Provision of a Semen Analysis Service

Tender description

The purpose of this notice is to provide confirmation of the award of a contract to provide a Semen Analysis Service within East and North Hertfordshire and West Essex to its incumbent provider, Herts and Essex Fertility Service. The service has been in place since February 2017 and is due to end on 31st March 2024. The new contract will start on 1st April 2024 and will end on 31st March 2026 with the option to extend for a further year. The total cumulative value of the contract since it started is £300k (excl. VAT and excluding the value of this new contract). The total value of the new contract is £120,000 (excl. VAT), increasing to £180,000 (excl. VAT) if the option to extend is enacted. The Semen Analysis service provides post vasectomy and male fertility semen analysis for patients who are registered with an GP within East and North Hertfordshire and West Essex. The total cumulative value of the service falls below the thresholds for advertisement against The Public Contract Regulations, therefore, the Regulations are not applicable. The Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board will review the service provision whilst the new contract is in place to understand how best to deliver this service for our patients into the future.
