Site Maintenance (agricultural and arboriculture works) at Llanwern and Waltwood 2024-25

Tender description

TfW are looking to appoint a suitable contractor to undertake the works set out in the Tender documents and generally described below. Works Required – Area 1 Remove plastic spirals and protection from trees and remove from site for recycling when trees are above mammal browsing height. Remove and replace dead/diseased trees and dispose of offsite/create habitat piles Cutting grassland throughout plantation area. Cutting by hand held strimmer only. Clearing of all cut vegetation by hand raking, including for creating composting heaps along plantation fence lines at height no greater than 600mm and width no greater than 1m Application of herbicide around planted trees as per specification Coppice 2 x 0.5 ha coupes areas to be identified within plantation Monitor dormouse boxes, by replacement of existing or new installations at locations to be provided within adjacent Routs Wood Installation of kissing gates at set locations to fence lines Management of invasive weed species Location 2 – Area 2 – Llanwern Woodland Planting Area Works required – Area 2 Remove and replace dead/diseased trees and dispose of offsite/on site to create habitat piles Cutting of grassland throughout plantation area. Cutting by hand held strimmer only. Clearing of all cut vegetation by hand raking, including for creating composting heaps along plantation boundaries at height no greater than 600mm and width no greater than 1m Application of herbicide around planted trees as per specification. Removal and disposal off-site of tree stakes, ties, rabbit guards etc. Monitor dormouse boxes – replacement of existing or new installations at locations to be provided in adjacent woodland.
