Request for Proposals: Mapping Creative Technology in ASEAN

Research Objectives:<br /><br />The purpose of the research and mapping will be to address the following needs:<br />• Building network capacity for creative practitioners in 10 ASEAN member states by mapping the arts x creative technology landscape and key players. <br />• To document and present the range of trends, gaps, opportunities and challenges faced by the arts x creative technology sector of ASEAN member states Providing a way of looking at the relation and intersection between the creative economy, digital economy, science, technology, arts and innovation.<br />• To document existing connections between arts x creative technology organisations in ASEAN member states and in the UK and to open a discourse on future shared challenges and opportunities.<br /><br />Proposed Research Methodology<br />• Desk-based research / mapping → literatures, data gatherings, interviews, etc.<br />• Targeted case studies per country, this includes a database of creative technology organisations with basic description of what they are, art form/topic focus, location, and approximate size. <br />• Survey to disseminate to the sector in ASEAN member states to capture descriptive data on a larger sample of festivals - to include location, art-form/topic, model and key challenges / opportunities.<br />• We also recommend utilising eco-friendly methods to minimise carbon footprint and effects of climate change.<br /><br />The core outcome of the research will be:<br />• A mapping of key players in the region, demonstrating the range and diversity of the creative economy sector and policy supporting the development of creative technology in Southeast Asia <br />• A set of case studies which illustrate the role of digital and technology in creative economy and highlight future development opportunities.<br />• A written overview of survey results - describing the key development trends, challenges, opportunities and needs<br />• A set of recommendations – to highlight opportunities for the advancement of digital technology and innovation in the creative economy sector in Southeast Asia<br />• A set of infographics that illustrate the key findings of the research.
