Tender description

This is an outcome-based specification, where project deliverables are critical. These may not be achievable in full due to the novel approach we intend to take, but we expect creativity and innovation in the approach to delivering the objectives with us This work is being led by the Environment Agency to determine the effect of real world measured chemical exposure on RNA transcriptomics (altered gene expression) in aquatic invertebrates. The project aims to develop a reproduceable genetic based indicator of pesticide and chemical exposure effects on aquatic invertebrates, and to advance understanding of the sub-lethal effects of chemical mixtures in the environment on aquatic insect populations. This work is critical for reporting effects into the H4 indicator which measures progress against commitments in the 25 Year Environment Plan.
