Consultants’ Brief for Engineer Lead Project Team with Civil, Structural, MandE and Building Services Engineering Skills for the Proposed Facility Centre for Water Sports Activities Mayo

Mayo County Council “The Client” has received funding from Failte Ireland to construct Facility Centres for Water Sports Activity at Carrowmore in Louisburg Co Mayo and Keel in Achill Co. Mayo. Carrowmore The scheme has an estimated value of €1.2M including design team fees. A Part 8 (public consultation process under the Planning and Development Act for Local Authority own works) approval has been received in May 2023 and the Facility Centre is to be completed by June 2024. Keel The scheme has an estimated value of €1.2M including design team fees. A Planning Application has been submitted to An Bord Pleanála for the site at Keel and we expect a decision in Q2 2024 and the Facility Centre is to be completed 9 months after planning approval has been received. An Exemplar design and specification of the proposed building (Facility Centre for Water Sports Activity) has been developed by MCA Architects who were procured by Failte Ireland to develop a universal and standardised design option for all the Activity Facility Centres proposed throughout Ireland. The appointed Design Team will adopt this developed Exemplar Building Design and specification to fit into the proposed site at Carrowmore and Keel.
