Tender description

Trinity College Dublin requires a liquid chromatograph/tandem mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) with a computer, data acquisition and processing software, and a printer. The liquid chromatograph will be preferably UHPLC (Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) or an equivalent technology, although HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) will be considered if it the only available technology with the overall package. The LC components consists of the following at a minimum, Degasser, Autosampler, LC Pump, Column Thermostat, Mass Spectrometer The mass spectrometer will have unit mass resolution and primarily utilize electrospray ionization (ESI) for ion production. The addition of APCI (atmospheric pressure chemical ionization), interchangeable with the ESI source or a dual ESI/APCI source, will be considered. A triple quadrupole mass analyser is envisaged to be suitable but other technologies (e.g. ion trap which could offer MS) will be considered (including a combination of mass analyser technologies).
