Provision of Psychological Therapist

Tender description

The secondary care Community Mental Health teams deliver psychological therapy to the adult population across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s ‘footprint’ which covers Cynon, Merthyr, Taf Ely, Rhondda, Maesteg and Bridgend. Following the publication of Matrics Cymru (June 2017) the Mental Health Directorate has been guided by this document with respect to the delivery of evidence based psychological therapies. In addition, CTMUHB is committed to delivering care in line with the recommendations of Welsh Government’s response to the Parliamentary Review (2018) and deliver high quality High Intensity Psychological Therapy to people who have been assessed as requiring this intervention. We are developing our service and focusing on prevention and early intervention. We are also committed to delivering ‘High Intensity’ Psychological Therapy as defined by Matrics Cymru which will be included in our service model. Alongside the development work stream the mental health directorate recognises that there is a significant number of individuals waiting for High Intensity Psychological Therapy – in some instances over 12 months. We intend to commission services to address waiting times across four specific localities Cynon, Merthyr, Rhondda and Taf Ely in order to reduce waiting times in the short term.
