Tender description

The purpose of this document is to outline the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the collaboration between the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and the British Council, with a focus on the adaptation and integration of the Strengthening Teachers’ English Proficiency (STEP) and Digital Literacy module into pre-service teacher training programmes in Nigeria. This collaboration aims to enhance the capacity of pre-service teachers and improve the quality of teacher education in Nigeria.<br />The primary objectives of this collaboration are as follows:<br /><br />1. Identify and review the relevant courses in the Minimum Standard and develop proposals for their enhancement.<br />2. To harmonise courses and content across programmes, to identify and eliminate duplication in course content across different pre-service teacher training programmes and develop recommendations for fostering modern and innovative approaches to teacher education.<br />3. To identify gaps in the existing curriculum and develop proposals for the introduction of new courses that address emerging trends and challenges in education.<br />4. To collaborate with the British Council to adapt the STEP, STRIDE and SPRINT modules for integration into the pre-service teacher training curriculum and develop a plan for its effective implementation.<br />
