***THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE TO CONCLUDE THE PRE-COMMERCIAL PROCUREMENT OF THE COMPETITION DETAILED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A NEW COMPETITION. THE COMPETITION WAS ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED BY INNOVATE UK AND CONTRACTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED.*** This Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) award, which has funded Phase 2 Demonstration R&D contracts to develop innovative solutions focused on home (or near-patient) glaucoma monitoring to better identify patients at risk of losing vision, and to reduce the individual and societal costs of sight loss. This includes home (or near-patient) tonometry, home assessment of visual function and potentially optic disc imaging. This is a Pre-Commercial Procurement funded by The Scottish Health Industry Partnership (SHIP). The Test Bed environment is provided by one of three NHS Scotland Innovation Hubs. ***THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE TO CONCLUDE THE PRE-COMMERCIAL PROCUREMENT OF THE COMPETITION DETAILED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A NEW COMPETITION. THE COMPETITION WAS ORIGINALLY ADVERTISED BY INNOVATE UK AND CONTRACTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED.*** Contracts are between NHS Golden Jubilee and winning participants. Phase 2 projects range in size up to total costs of 75,000 GBP inclusive of VAT. The aim of this award is to develop innovative solutions focused on home (or near-patient) glaucoma monitoring to better identify patients at risk of losing vision, and to reduce the individual and societal costs of sight loss. This will include home tonometry, home assessment of visual function and potentially optic disc imaging. It can also include developing methods of securely storing, transferring, and analysing the large number of home measurements obtained. Any adoption and implementation of a solution from this competition would be subject to a separate, possibly competitive, procurement exercise. This competition does not cover the purchase of any solution. Contracts have be given to successful applicants.
